Iva Publications is a tribute to my grandmother Ivy Violet "Iva" Simpson. Iva was born halfway between the first and second decades of the twentieth century. Her writing story spanned from her school years writing from her vivid imagination to the accounts of a mature adult writing from years of observing the people around her. After more than 250 sales of fiction short stories, her attention turned to writing copy for local radio stations. Her stint as a copywriter lasted for approximately 20 years before, in her own words, "Though I sorta retired at 67, in 1981, I still write quite a bit of radio copy, plus some newspaper features and articles."
